Youdle, accessible from www.youdle.io, is operated by Product Sightings, Inc. DBA Youdle ("Youdle", "we", "us", or "our"), which is responsible for the information described here. One of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by Youdle and how we use it.
It is the first of three documents that work together: this Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, the Terms and Conditions set the rules for using Youdle, and the Permissions Notice explains the browser and device permissions we ask for.

Youdle follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Like any other website, Youdle uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

When you turn a category off or decline it, we delete the corresponding Youdle, Google, and Meta cookies and browser-storage entries that we can reach from your browser.
When you create or manage an account, we may collect your email address, first and last name, ZIP code, email confirmation status, profile description, profile photo, preferred stores, community onboarding status, account ID, and account timestamps. Supabase provides our authentication, database, and file-storage services and processes login credentials and authentication cookies or sessions on our behalf.
If you sign in through Google, Facebook, or Apple, we may receive the account information that you authorize that provider to share, such as your email address, name, account identifier, or profile photo. Profile names, descriptions, and photos may be displayed with your community activity as described below.
When you sign up for the Youdle newsletter, we collect the email address you enter, the audience types you select (Shopper, Grocer, or Other), the Youdle form you used, and the date you signed up. We use this information to send grocery news, shortage alerts, recall notices, and related updates, and to understand which signup places work.
Mailchimp stores our newsletter audience and delivers these emails on our behalf. Your audience selections are stored as tags and the signup form and date are stored as fields on your newsletter record. Newsletter signup is separate from a Youdle account, and signing up does not create one.
The Youdle signup form may also appear inside a Youdle blog article that is published on another site. Submitting the form there sends the same information to Youdle and Mailchimp, and no advertising or analytics tools run inside that embedded form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email. Deleting your Youdle account also removes the newsletter record for your account email, as described below.
When you use grocery or shopping lists, we may store list names and the item names, departments or sections, quantities, completion status, and timestamps associated with your account. A browser-storage version of list data may also be used when that feature is available without an account.
When you save a favorite product, we may store product and retailer information such as the product identifier, name, store or brand, price, image URL, and product URL with your account. If you use a watchlist or in-stock alert feature, we may also store the products you select, whether an alert is active or has been sent, notification-channel preferences, and related timestamps. We use this information to maintain and synchronize your lists and preferences and to provide the alerts you request.
The Youdle community is a public-facing feature. Information you submit there may be visible to anyone who can access the community pages. This may include post titles and text, categories, ZIP-code flares, referenced favorite products, comments and replies, mentions, likes or reactions, timestamps, and your profile name and photo.
If you select "Post as Anonymous," Youdle hides your name and profile photo in the normal post display, but the post remains associated with your account in our systems for operation, safety, and moderation. Comments are displayed with the commenter's profile information and are not anonymous.
Shelfies and other images or videos attached to community posts are stored using Supabase Storage and are served through public URLs.
Photos are taken inside stores, and phone cameras often record the exact coordinates in the image file. We remove embedded metadata from uploaded images, including EXIF GPS coordinates, camera and device details, XMP, and IPTC blocks. The image is re-encoded in your browser before it is uploaded and again on our servers before it is attached to a post, and an image we cannot process that way is deleted instead of published. We do not currently remove metadata from uploaded video.
Stripping metadata does not change what is visible in the picture. Anything shown in the frame, such as a storefront, street sign, receipt, license plate, or face, stays in the published image, so do not post personal, confidential, or location-sensitive information that you do not want made public.
Youdle uses location information to find nearby products and stores, interpret location-based searches, and show relevant community activity. Location information may come from a ZIP code you enter, a ZIP code saved in your profile or browser, a location named in your search or community post, or the precise latitude and longitude supplied by your browser after you grant location permission.
When browser location is available, coordinates may be sent to Youdle and Google services, including Google Maps or Gemini, for reverse geocoding, nearby-place lookup, ZIP-code resolution, or search interpretation. Community posts may display a ZIP-code flare and store that ZIP code together with approximate latitude and longitude derived from the ZIP-code centroid; those community coordinates are not device GPS coordinates. You can deny or revoke location access in your browser or device settings and use manual ZIP-code entry where available.
Youdle uses Google Gemini and other automated processing to interpret some grocery searches, extract grocery items from recipe text, organize text detected in handwritten grocery lists, classify certain community posts, and generate Youdle Companion replies. Depending on the feature, Google Gemini may receive search text, a profile or guest ZIP code, browser coordinates, recipe text, text extracted from a grocery-list image, community post text and category, ZIP-derived location, and limited snippets from related community posts.
For handwritten grocery-list imports, the uploaded images are processed by Google Cloud Vision to detect text. The detected text, filenames, and parsing hints may then be sent to Gemini; the original image is not sent to Gemini by this workflow. Community posts may be evaluated automatically for a possible Companion response without a separate prompt each time, and a generated response may be saved as a community comment.
AI-generated or AI-interpreted results may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before you rely on them. Do not submit sensitive personal information to an AI-assisted feature unless it is necessary for the service you requested.
Youdle may log grocery searches, search result views, store filters, location source, result counts, search status, and product-link clicks to understand which searches and products are useful to shoppers, improve search quality, troubleshoot errors, measure site performance, and power features such as trending products. These logs may include the search term, interpreted search term, ZIP code or general search area, whether a ZIP code came from manual entry, a saved profile location, browser geolocation permission, or another location lookup method, stores requested or returned by a search, clicked product link, product name, product image URL, date and time, signed-in account ID when applicable, and a pseudonymous first-party visitor ID stored in your browser when you consent to analytics. We do not place this visitor ID in public page URLs. We honor browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals by disabling this visitor ID where available.
When you give the applicable consent through our privacy choices banner, we use analytics and advertising tools, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Analytics Advertising Features, Google signals where enabled, Meta Pixel, and Vercel Analytics, to understand how visitors use Youdle, measure search and product interactions, improve our services, measure advertising performance, and support advertising or remarketing audiences where applicable. These tools may collect or receive information such as pages viewed, searches performed, search terms, approximate location information such as ZIP-code prefix or city, device and browser information, IP address, referring pages, and interactions with links or buttons, and cookie or device identifiers. Analytics tools and first-party pseudonymous measurement remain blocked unless you enable Analytics. Meta Pixel and advertising storage and personalization signals remain blocked unless you enable Advertising.
Google Analytics Advertising Features and Google signals may allow Google Analytics to collect additional information through Google advertising cookies and identifiers, including demographic and interest information from users who are signed into Google and have Ads Personalization enabled. We and third-party vendors, including Google, may use first-party cookies or identifiers together with third-party cookies or identifiers to provide analytics, reporting, measurement, advertising, and personalization features.
We use Meta Pixel to record page views and search activity, measure advertising performance, and understand how visitors interact with Youdle. Meta may receive page URLs, referring information, event names, IP address, device and browser information, and cookies or similar identifiers. Meta may associate information received through its business tools with a Facebook or Instagram account and process it under Meta's Privacy Policy.
We share information with service providers as needed to operate the features described in this policy. These include Supabase for authentication, databases, and public file storage; Vercel for hosting and analytics; Google for analytics, advertising, maps and geocoding, Cloud Vision, and Gemini; Meta for Pixel measurement and supported social login; Mailchimp for newsletter storage and delivery; and grocery-search or retailer services that receive a search term, ZIP code, and selected stores in order to return product results. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
To keep Youdle available and to prevent abuse of our search, AI, and account features, we apply rate limits to requests. To do this we store a salted, irreversible hash of an identifier such as your IP address or account ID together with the route and a time window. We use these records only for security, abuse prevention, and service reliability, and not for advertising or profiling.
You can accept, reject, or separately choose Analytics and Advertising in the privacy choices banner. You can change or withdraw those choices at any time by selecting “Privacy choices” in the footer. Necessary storage used for sign-in, security, and saving your privacy choice remains active. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. You can opt out of Google's personalized ads by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Some browsers and devices also offer privacy controls such as Global Privacy Control, Do Not Track, location permission prompts, and ad tracking settings. If you deny browser geolocation permission, Youdle may ask you to enter a ZIP code or may use a saved profile or browser-stored ZIP code when available.
You can review or disconnect activity that businesses send to Meta through Meta's activity controls. Where supported, Youdle uses Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track to keep optional analytics and advertising disabled.
You can review and update your name, ZIP code, profile description, profile photo, preferred stores, grocery lists, and watchlist from your account pages at any time. You can delete a community post, comment, or uploaded image from the community pages where it appears.
You can delete your entire account from the My Account page by selecting Delete Account. That action permanently removes your Youdle profile records, your community posts, comments, replies, likes, mentions, and any pending Companion work for them, your grocery lists and items, your watchlist and in-stock alert settings, the search and product-click records linked to your account, the post media and profile photos you uploaded to our Supabase storage buckets, the rate-limiting records tied to your account, your sign-in record, and the newsletter record for your account email. Deletion cannot be undone.
Searches and product-link clicks that were never linked to an account are not deleted by this process because they are not associated with you; you can clear the pseudonymous visitor ID behind them at any time by turning off Analytics in Privacy choices in the footer, which also deletes that identifier from your browser. Backups and the records held by the service providers listed above follow their own retention periods. If you cannot access your account, contact us using the details below and we will work with you to handle your request.
Youdle's Privacy Policy does not apply to the other websites you reach through links on Youdle, such as retailer product pages, our news blog, or our community group. We advise you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of those sites for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
Youdle does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately, and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
This Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in Youdle. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
