Natural Grocers organic mung beans
Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets recalled Natural Grocers Brand Organic 2-Pound Mung Beans after reports of sharp glass fragments. The FDA-posted company announcement identifies clear 2-pound bags with UPC 000080112600 .
Look at the pack date in the lower-left corner of the label. The affected codes are 26-160, 26-173, 26-196, 26-224 and 26-258 . The affected lots may have reached Natural Grocers locations in several states, including Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, among others listed in the official notice.
What to do: Stop using the affected beans immediately. The company says to discard them or return them for a full refund or credit. The FDA-posted announcement reported no injuries or illnesses as of October 22; that does not make the potentially affected product safe to eat.
WinCo Foods hoagie rolls
WinCo Foods recalled its 16-ounce hoagie rolls because sesame flour was not declared on the packaging. The recalled rolls have UPC 2-70552-00649-2 and Best By dates from September 10 through November 3, 2026 .
The company identified distribution through WinCo locations in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. People with a sesame allergy or severe sensitivity should not eat affected rolls; WinCo directs them to return the product for a refund. No illnesses were reported in the October 22 company notice.
The Youdle Take
For a recall, the brand name alone is not enough. A useful check compares product description, package size, UPC and the relevant date or lot code . Glass contamination and an undeclared allergen call for different precautions, but both are reasons to check the actual package rather than assume a visually similar product is included or excluded.
For a running collection of food safety stories, use the Youdle Recalls & Warnings section. Official recall notices should also remain accessible to reviewers and, preferably, to readers as a carefully labeled safety exception so they can see new updates or expanded lot lists.
